If you follow my
instagram you will know that yesterday (Thursday) i went to the benefit store opening on Carnaby Street where the beautiful Tanya Burr was also hosting a meet up. Tanya is defenatley one of my idols, her blog and YouTube are so inspiring and she's just a genuinely lovely person so when i heard she would be in London i had to go. I will have a separate post dedicated to the event but today i thought i'd do a quick review of the two freebies i received.
I personally hadn't tried any benefit products but had heard nothing but wonderful things so i was super excited to try these this morning.
Pore-fessional | Primer
Lets start on what you see first, the packaging.I love all of benefits vinatage look packaging and this one is super cute, packaging should never be boring especially as beauty is "art". As for the actual product i have to say i wasn't that impressed. Pore-fessional is described as a "pro balm to help minimized to appearance of pores" and i feel like my pores were more visable after application. It also claims to be "oil free" but i'd have to disagree. The balm itself has an oily texture although it is silky smooth and feels gorgeous on your skin and i feel like my skin was a little more oily than usual but don't hold me to that one. I'd just like to point out before i completely put you off the product, that this was my very first time using both products so they might need a few uses to adapt to your skin! Overall i'd give the pore-fessional a 5/10 because although the pore thing was a complete fail it did manage to keep my make-up on all day long so looks like the primer side of the product works.
They're real | mascara
I had very high hopes for this mascara. One of my best friends uses this and her lashes always look flawless and genuinely fake so when i was applying this i expected to be amazed. However although the results were good, the mascara itself left my lashes really hard and it was hard to avoid clumps. I suppose my lashes did look really long and full though so for special occasions or if you don't mind spending a little extra time on your lashes in order to avoid clumps then I definitely recommend "they're real".
